The Washington Bravehearts were started in 2009 to offer enthusiastic (and loud!) support for the Washington Freedom. We are for the continued success and expansion of the WPS, but we are Freedom fans first and foremost! Part of the growth and goals of the WPS are based on each team having a strong supporters group and competitive rivalries between the clubs and their supporters.
Here’s a quick checklist to see if you should stand with us in Section 111 as a proud member of the Bravehearts. Do you like:
- Making noise, singing, chanting, drumming, shouting
- Standing the whole match
- Making more noise!
- Cheering for your home team, the Washington Freedom
- NOT cheering for the visiting teams
- Taunting the other team
- Soccer
The Bravehearts might NOT be the supporters group for you, if you like:
- Being quiet
- Sitting down and taking it easy during a professional sporting event
- Clapping politely at good plays while whispering “jolly good show!”
- Cheering for everyone on the field, regardless of what team they’re on
- Badminton
If you have any other questions about the Washington Bravehearts, please ask any of our members at one of the games (we’re the boisterous ones in the Bravehearts shirts!), or send us an email.
